Amish Handmade Quilts & The Quilt Shop!

Amish Handmade Quilts & The Quilt Shop!

I have been searching far and wide for Amish quilt makers willing to create quilts for my store, but to my surprise, I couldn’t find any locally. The Amish women in my community simply don’t have the time for quilting anymore, and many feel that the effort it takes to hand-stitch each masterpiece isn’t worth the price they are able to sell them for.
Still, I knew these quilts—true Amish, hand-quilted heirlooms—were out there somewhere. I just had to find them.

Yesterday, I met up with some dear friends, both former Amish, one of whom had recently opened a charming coffee shop. I had never traveled to their community before, and as I drove through the countryside, something caught my eye—an Amish-made sign that simply read “Quilts.”

If you live near the Amish, you know their signs when you see them. They’re humble, unassuming, and always a promise of something special.

“I have to stop,” I told myself.

After a beautiful time catching up at Saloma’s coffee shop, I made my way to the little shop behind that simple sign. That’s when I met Anna.
Anna lives far off the beaten path in this quiet Amish town, where she rarely gets visitors. When I walked into her shop, I was met with a breathtaking sight—stacks of handmade quilts, each one more stunning than the last. I spent time talking with Anna, making sure these quilts were truly what I had been searching for—handmade, hand-quilted, woven with the tradition and craftsmanship of Amish women. She assured me they were.
I asked her if I could sell her quilts online.

She paused, thoughtful. “Nobody has ever asked me that before,” she said with a smile. “But I don’t see why not.”
We spent hours together as I carefully photographed each quilt, learning more about Anna’s life, her family, and her deep love for quilting. She is a grandmother to over 40 grandchildren—a woman who has spent her life stitching warmth, love, and faith into every quilt she makes.
These quilts are not just blankets. They are works of art. They are stories. They are a tradition that is disappearing, as fewer Amish women take up the craft.
But here, in this little shop, in a place few have ever seen, I found them.
And now, I can share them with you.
These quilts are more than fabric and thread. They are hours—days—of meticulous hand-stitching. They are memories of Amish grandmothers teaching their granddaughters how to quilt, of stories told around the frame, of hands that have spent a lifetime perfecting this skill.
They are rare. They are precious.
And they are waiting for a home. 💛🧡❤️💚💙🩷
When you purchase one of these quilts, you are not just buying something warm and beautiful..you are preserving a piece of Amish heritage. You are supporting the hands of women who have spent their lives mastering a craft that is fading. You are bringing home something that carries history, love, and the simple, beautiful life of the Amish.
These quilts may not always be available. But today, they are.
You can see them all here in our Simple Life Amish Store
